James Vessels has been in construction all of his life. James was roofing in 1957 and working at Ft. Knox, with the port engineers. James retired from Ft. Knox in 1969, same year his son Kenny graduated from high school. Kenny went to work at Ft. Knox for R.L. Rainey Roofing Co. Kenny worked for Mr. Rainey until August 26, 1970, when he fell through a skylite on the Lucas/Hussey tobacco warehouse. After Kenny’s full recovery in March of '71, Kenny started working with his father in the residential roofing field.
